I will be talking about a poster I had recently made. Udeera Insith Rathnayake is a child who has neurological disabilities and is someone who would benefit greatly from the education received at RCCI. However his parents are not financially stable enough to provide him said education, so the RCCI project took on the task of raising awareness and money in order to help him receive the education he deserves. As service leader, with the help of our advisor, we split up the work required for this by dividing it into teams. Four of us wrote emails to the RCCI head teacher and another to our service coordinator at school. As service leader I took responsibility on creating the poster. I used canva tool in order to make this poster

RCCI Awareness Poster

The poster only took around an hour to make. I had to first find an image to be used for the poster, then a template which needed to be edited so that it fit the topic, and finally I had to contact the supervisor for the details of the bank so that future supporters may know where to donate.

Learning Outcomes Achieved:

LO3 – The initial idea was given to me and as service leader I took the responsibility of planning out how the poster should be formatted. The plan was initiated the day the task was given as well.

LO5 – I worked collaboratively with my peers in order to plan out what needed to be done as well as how to execute it.

LO6 – Those challenged mentally need to be able to receive proper aid in order to develop properly and I feel as though in countries where people don’t make a large amount of money, it is tough for them to support their kids in this way. Hence the RCCI service group thought that we could help in whatever way we could in our current situation.

LO7 – As this is a sensitive topic and something to not be taken lightly, I decided to make the poster in the same way. Only representing the most vital information and displaying a sincere message asking for the aid of the OSC community.
