For today we had the day off in order to participate in I Be Active day. This day is prioritizing our health’s and being active for once. This is because of the fact that we are currently in lockdown due to a recent spike in COVID cases. Being at home all the time especially doing school work a lot of students fail to stay active. Thus, this day was dedicating to us doing some sort of activity and sharing it with a padlet made by the teachers. The padlet is divided into four sections based on the colors that our house represents (red, green, yellow, or blue).

For today’s activity I decided on challenging myself and making use of something I had bought on a whim almost. A few months ago, I had purchased an ab roller wheel in hopes of working on improving my core strength as a personal fitness goal. However with the demotivation from the situation at hand and the environment, I failed to use this regularly and it has just been sitting in my room since I bought it. So I decided to use it today and set goals for myself in order improve my health.

Learning outcomes achieved:

LO1 – I understood that my physical health took a toll as one of the side effects a lot of others faced from this COVID situation and found an area for personal growth (better core strength)

LO2 – I undertook the challenge of using the ab roller in order to push myself. Although I did it on my knees, I hope to do it regularly and move to my legs in a few months
