Concert Connections 🎸

During the final stretch of the semester, Room to Read curated a warm-hearted concert in the OSC Library just in time for Christmas. More than a showcase of performances, this event aimed to connect Vidyaloka School students with our school’s community,Offering parents, staff and students a glimpse into the impactful services our school offers through this partnership.

This event had been in the works for a month but faced a postponement due to a clash with our secondary school production. Under the guidance of our supervisor, Ms. Lockwood,  Our team took on various crucial tasks: organising snacks for everyone on campus, crafting posters, managing the tech and stage, selling tickets, capturing moments through photography, and ensuring the smooth flow of the entire event. Of course, our 6th graders deserve a big shout-out for their serious dedication to guarding the food table. Their contribution was a game-changer.

Through the food stall and ticket sales (akin to collecting donations), we achieved another goal of raising funds for another school’s library—around $300, a significant achievement for our service.

During the final stretch of the first semester, Room to Read curated a warm-hearted concert in the OSC Library right in time for the Christmas season. This event was more than just an array of performances; it aimed to serve as a bridge between Vidyaloka School students and our school’s community. Offering parents, staff and students a glimpse into the impactful services our school offers through this partnership.

The concert was lively, a mix of amazing performances by Vidyaloka school and OSC students, showing incredible support. It broke down walls between us and the Vidyaloka students. It was about making them feel part of our OSC community. I found this event to be the perfect way of connecting us all and showing how unity (in diversity) and teamwork can bring our communities together.
