Stepping into the esteemed 30th session of the Colombo-operated Model United Nations (COMUN). Just like any other MUN, it is a gathering that unifies local and international schools across Sri Lanka. COMUN epitomizes collaborative efforts, offering a platform where students actively participate in simulating the diverse committees that mirror the United Nations. COMUN’s primary goal is to foster an environment where participants immerse themselves in the intricate workings of global diplomacy and problem-solving.

During the time of SMUN at Sanskriti School, I often thought about how the head of tech and media had the opportunity to collect pictures and capture the memorable moments of our engaging debates. While everyone else was absorbed in the intensity of the discussions, there was always someone skillfully documenting these significant events. Reflecting on this aspect, I was inspired to pursue a similar role.  I currently hold the position of Co-head of tech, tasked with using technology to capture and enrich the essence of our conferences.

At our after-school Monday COMUN meeting we noticed that the students from the grade below us who were planning on being delegates for the conference have very little information about the main conference and what they are supposed to know as delegates. with the help of this year’s Co-head of tech, Secretary General, and Head of operations  (shoutout to Dimath, Aura, and Luka), we began creating a website: COMUN.LK

The website serves as a convenient and straightforward platform for gathering information. It features a countdown to the main conference, direct links to our social media profiles, and introduces the EXCO and SECRETARIAT members, providing their contact details. Additionally, it serves as a hub for any new updates or important information regarding the event.
