COMUN
for creativity, I have taken part in the school’s COMUN program, and my main goal is personal growth. I want to better understand global issues and how the United Nations works in more detail, I also want to help young people learn about these topics and become better problem solvers.
As I pursue these goals, I expect to improve my social and debate skills. Additionally, I’m interested in working with media. This means I want to help with videos, photos, and information sharing during the COMUN sessions. I want to make these sessions more accessible and understandable for everyone. I think being part of the program and handling media will be helpful with the subjects I have chosen and what I plan to do in the future.
Activity
Horseback Riding Goal:
I am committed to advancing my horseback riding skills at the Premadasa riding school, Colombo over the next two years. My objectives include mastering techniques like cantering and galloping, enabling me to participate in future equestrian competitions. To achieve this, I plan to dedicate a minimum of 30 hours to lessons this year, attending sessions every Wednesday.
Kathak (Dance) Goal:
I aspire to immerse myself in the art of Kathak throughout the year, dedicating at least 30 hours to its study. Having attempted Kathak in my younger years, I am determined to grasp every aspect of this dance form and culminate the year with a performance. My commitment extends to attending Kathak classes every Monday after school. I will start this activity after COMUN ends.

Room to read
My commitment to COMUN seamlessly complements my participation in Room to Read, a program focused on improving the school libraries at the Bapajaya Vidyaloka maha Vidyalaya and Vidhyawardene and the young children of the school’s English-speaking skills. The skills and knowledge I gain from MUN directly benefit my ability to support these young learners in Room to Read. By connecting these two service efforts, I aim to provide a well-rounded approach to education and personal growth. I want to contribute to planning and hosting engaging literary events along with the other members of this service. I aim to actively participate in all CAS activities related to education and reading. Ultimately, I aim to inspire others to join our mission of making learning and reading accessible to everyone in our community.
