Track Training over winter break.

Winter Training

Training Log for the Winter Break

Over the Winter Break as I had recently found out I had made the track team I couldn’t slack of for 3/4 ish weeks and expect to be maintain the speed that we had built up the previous 6 weeks. So I Decided to train Almost every day doing something and Mrs.Sue wanted to see our progression so she sent up a online Spreadsheet where we could record out session which can be see to the left.

One of my main focuses for my trainings was my distance running for the 800 meter race and Shotput.

To practice for the 800 meter and 400 meter race I would either run at the my home towns in door Haul which was a 300 meter track where I would do my training regime of a 6x 300 at 80% and the 200, 300, 400m x 2 with 5 minutes intervals after each run or I would go to the gym and run on the treadmill and do

Continous Running for 15 minutes at 12Km a hour and then a Interval session which is 20 minutes with a max speed of 20 KM per hour and a minimun of 7km/h.

My Other training was the Shotput where I would just try and maintain my technique and I would just do  3x Punch throws, 3x Standing throw, 3x shuffle throw and 2 x Glide throws. Here below you can see me training the shuffe throw with my focus on swinging that left arm to get that last bit of push to throw the shot as far as possible.
