December 23rd 2021 – Lilydale to Warburton Trail in Victoria, Australia

For December break I went to Melbourne, Australia for around three weeks in which one of the days I went and did a infamous trail known as the Lilydale to Warburton trail. This was one of the more challenging cycle rides I did as it was 80km and full of incline. The most challenging part of the cycle ride was the fact that the incline went for around 30+km through gravel paths and was only a couple of degrees of incline meaning it was an intense leg burner. With this said the scenery was absolutely breath taking and went through vineries and lush fields which made everything worth it. Throughout the ride there was many parts where I didn’t feel like continuing however I powered through and finished the entire trail and couldn’t have enjoyed the fact that I did anymore. Another thing which added to this was the fact that after all the intense incline there was a point where for around 30 mins I didn’t even have to paddle due to the down hill. This bike ride really allowed me to engage and empathize with the three CAS learning outcomes of “Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth”, “Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process” and “Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences”.
