Workshopping UN day – 2023

This year, as every year, it was our role as 11th graders to explain to the community about this year’s chosen SDG goal 16 “Peace, Justice, and Equality”. My group was Darya and Tiara and we were appointed to teach 2nd graders, working collaboratively we created a presentation and came up with our idea; which was for them to draw on a piece of paper about what peace/equality meant for them. Many of them drew their family, and friends as well as side-by-side drawings of peaceful things vs unpeaceful things. The second part of the day we printed out an image that we thought represented the unity and diversity of children around the world, which we encouraged them to color in whichever way they wanted.

Similar to the print-out that they drew on

Two of the papers which were kindly gifted to me by some of the kids whom I bonded with. I taped them up on my wall to remind myself of them and the fun day we had together πŸ™‚
