Mosaic Pot!
Throughout the course of a month my mom and I worked on these mosaic pots. We both wanted something to do, so we went to waters edge to buy some pots to work on. When we lived in South Africa we did mosaics, I was younger so I wasn’t that great at it so trying it again was really fun and gave me a chance to develop those skills. Once we go our pots we started getting our tiles out, we still have a lot of tiles from when we did them in South Africa, so we just used those. And then we started sorting and searching for the colours we liked and wanted to use for our designs. I wanted to do a tree design and my mom worked on doing a mandala design.
Once I had most of the tiles I wanted, I started cutting them and laying out my tiles in the design I wanted. Once my planning was done then I started gluing the pieces on one by one. This was a very hideous process and is why it overall took a long time to complete. This process really took a lot of perseverance to fully complete, and I am happy that I stuck with it till the end. Once all the pieces were glued on we had to grout the whole thing so that there wouldn’t be spaces between the tiles and it holds the tiles onto the pot better! Then we let it dry and then we were finally done, it was a long process, it took a lot more time then I thought it would. These are some pictures of how it came out in the end…
